 | Horseriding |
It is rare to be able to cross an entire country on horseback. At 2,587 km2, the surface area of the Grand Duchy makes this easily possible. Numerous stopovers for both riders and their horses provide opportunities to meet local people, cross the deep forests that cover one third of the national territory and experience the different landscapes of the Ardennes, the Moselle, the Mullerthal – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland, the Terres Rouges and the Bon Pays. The region around Haute-Sûre Lake has carved out a special place for itself among preferred destinations for horse riders in Luxembourg. Equestrian circuit in the Haute-Sûre nature park
Discover the magnificent, undulating region of Haute-Sûre Lake when you cover 120 km kilometres waymarked by panels bearing a white horse’s head. A tourist map and a set of four detailed pony-trekking maps are available.

Horse-trekking stations in Luxembourg
Under www.hippoline.lu (Wanderreitstationen) horse-trekkers and tourists on horseback will find an overview of the stations available throughout Luxembourg. These riding stables or private facilities offer accommodation for horses and a bed, a pile of straw, a campsite or a room in a guest house for riders, as they prefer. Some riding stables offer riding lessons. In principle, accompanied outings with riding school horses are only possible by appointment for experienced riders.
Riding club "Islandpäerd An der Tuut"
The riding club "Islandpäerd An der Tuut" ( www.andertuut.lu) in the canton of Redingen/Attert offers rides and trekking tours on Icelandic horses (or possibly on your own horse). Riding ability essential. Beginners are not accepted.
